John Cross

John Cross has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. John started their career as an Audit Supervisor at RSM (formerly Baker Tilly) from 2005 to 2012, where they played a key role in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

John then moved on to Unum UK in 2012 as a Senior IFRS and Solvency II Reporting Accountant, where they prepared for Solvency II reporting and disclosure requirements and worked with actuarial colleagues to prepare for the new insurance contract accounting standard.

In 2014, John joined Old Mutual Group as a Group Accountant, responsible for Solvency II and MCEV reporting. John later became the Group Senior Technical Capital Accountant, leading the Solvency II reporting and disclosure workstream.

Currently, John is the Head of Finance, Regulatory Reporting at Quilter, a position they have held since 2018.

John Cross graduated from the University of Warwick in 2005 with a MMath degree in Mathematics. Prior to that, they attended All Hallows, Macclesfield from 1994 to 2001 and obtained 5 A levels. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and obtained a Business and Finance Professional (BFP) certification from ICAEW in 2019. John also achieved an Audit Qualification (AQ) from ICAEW in 2010.
