Alexander Craddock

Senior Scientist Specializing In Quantum Physics at Qunnect

Alexander Craddock is a Senior Scientist at Qunnect since October 2020, specializing in Quantum Physics with a focus on researching warm rubidium vapors for quantum networking applications, including quantum memories and entanglement sources, and developing plug-and-play quantum devices. Previously, Alexander held the position of JQI Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Maryland from August 2014 to August 2020 and completed a Master's thesis project at UCL, focusing on detector development for the SuperNEMO neutrino experiment. Additional experience includes work as a Research Assistant at the London Centre of Nanotechnology, and leading a third-year group project on uncertainties in complex nuclear systems at UCL. Alexander obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland and an MSci in Physics from UCL.

Qunnect is a spin-off venture from the Quantum Information Technology group at Stony Brook university that focusses on engineering novel quantum devices enabling future information networks and quantum computing using photons to communicate and atoms to store and process quantum information. In particular, Qunnect focuses on engineering novelquantum memories and quantum sources that will enable future information networks and quantum computing.
