Rachel Thomas is an accomplished academic and industry leader with a strong background in mathematics and microbiology. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor and Professor of Practice at Queensland University of Technology, Rachel is also the Founder and Researcher at fast.ai. Additionally, Rachel holds a position as a Strategy Board Member at the ARC Training Centre for Information Resilience and advises at The Data Institute, University of San Francisco, where Rachel is also the Director of the Center for Applied Data Ethics. Committed to diversity and inclusion, Rachel serves on the Board of Directors for Women in Machine Learning. Rachel's educational qualifications include a PhD in Mathematics from Duke University and an ongoing Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Colorado State University.
