Ethan Cairns is an experienced product developer currently working with Rab since February 2022, focusing on equipment development including backpacks, sleeping mats, and shelters. Previously, Ethan served as a Junior Footwear Developer at Lacoste, managing the development of 80-100 styles per season and overseeing various stages from design to final approval. Ethan's background also includes a role as a Customer Expert at Cotswold Outdoor, providing expert fittings for outdoor footwear, and work as a Testing Engineer at LABOSPORT, conducting high-speed camera testing for Goal Line Technology systems. An early experience at adidas involved exposure to footwear development processes in Vietnam and the USA. Ethan's adventurous spirit is highlighted by a solo hike of over 1000 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. Academic credentials include a BSc in Engineering Geology & Geotechnics from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Sports Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, along with notable research accolades from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
