Jan Smeitink

Jan Smeitink is a distinguished expert in mitochondrial medicine, currently serving as the Founding Chief Executive Officer of Khondrion since November 2012. Smeitink holds the position of Professor in Mitochondrial Medicine at Radboudumc and has been a Foreign Adjunct Professor at Karolinska Institutet since May 2006. Previously, Smeitink chaired the Board of the Radboud Center for Mitochondrial Medicine until May 2020 and served as a staff member in the Department of Metabolic Disease at UMC Utrecht from 1991 to 1996. Smeitink earned a Prof. dr. degree in Medicine, specializing in Pediatrics and Inborn Errors of Metabolism from Radboud University Nijmegen.
