Peter van Hengel

Peter Van Hengel is an accomplished audiologist and researcher with extensive experience in the fields of audiology and acoustics. Currently serving as an audiologist at Pento, Peter specializes in tinnitus and hyperacusis while also holding a position as a clinical physicist in training at Radboudumc. Previously, Peter contributed as a senior researcher at INCAS3, focusing on cochlear modeling and its applications, and operated as the owner of van Hengel Advies, providing research and business consultancy. A former Chief Scientist at Sound Intelligence, Peter played a key role in developing methods for aggressive shouting detection and later took on the role of CEO. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, where research centered on cochlear modeling, and a dr. ir. degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Groningen.
