Duy-Nguyen Ta

Duy-Nguyen Ta is a highly experienced roboticist and applied scientist, currently working at The AI Institute since September 2023. Prior to this role, Duy-Nguyen served as the Principal Engineer for Perception at Outrider from July 2022 to August 2023, and held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Toyota Research Institute, focusing on perception for robot manipulation from October 2017 to July 2022. Duy-Nguyen began their career as a Senior Robotics and Vision Scientist at iRobot, contributing significant advancements in vSLAM technology between January 2015 and September 2017. Duy-Nguyen's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, complemented by extensive research experience at various institutions, including Nokia Research Center and Nanyang Technological University, with a strong emphasis on augmented reality and computer vision.
