Jien Cao

Jien Cao is a Senior Software Engineer at The Boston Dynamics AI Institute since June 2023, with a strong background in software engineering and algorithm development. Previously, Jien served as a Senior Software Engineer at Motional from August 2020 to May 2023, focusing on tracking algorithms and machine learning experiments. Prior to that, Jien worked at Cruise Automation from May 2018 to August 2020, specializing in radar-based tracking and sensor evaluation for advanced sensing technologies. Jien's career began at KLA-Tencor, where roles included Algorithm Engineer and Senior System Design Engineer, spanning over 12 years from September 2005 to April 2018. Jien holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Stanford University and both a BS and MS in Physics from Tsinghua University.
