Tarik Kelestemur

Tarik Kelestemur is an experienced professional in the field of robotics and machine learning, currently serving as an Applied Scientist at RAI Institute since May 2023, focusing on visual robot learning for whole-body mobile manipulation. Previously, as a Machine Learning Engineer at Covariant, Tarik analyzed edge cases and failures for deployed pick-and-place robots and worked on enhancing deep learning models. Tarik's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from TOBB Ekonomi ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi. Notable research positions include serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University, where Tarik developed a probabilistic shape estimation method, and various undergraduate researcher roles that contributed to advancements in robotics and perception technologies.
