Shahar Hania has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shahar began their career as a Dev. lab manager & dev. project manager at Rayteq Photonic Solutions in 2000, where they established a fiber laser lab for telecom and managed the system engineering of laser pumps. In 2002, they joined ELOP as a System Engineer and worked on various projects involving cutting-edge sensors and electro-optics design. During their time at ELOP, they served as a chief system engineer for a dual-color IR MWS sensor project and invented algorithms for IR sensing. In 2012, they joined BIRD Aerosystems as a Senior System Engineer, where they focused on physics and electro-optics issues. Shahar invented a laser module concept for DIRCM and became an expert in MWS. In 2016, Shahar became a co-founder of Rail Vision Ltd and served as VP R&D, leading the development of electro-optic multi-sensor systems for train safety and security. Shahar later became the Chief Executive Officer of Rail Vision and successfully took the company public on the Nasdaq. Under their leadership, Rail Vision signed the world's first ADAS contract with Israel Railways and conducted investment roadshows for 3 public rounds.
Shahar Hania received a Bachelor of Science degree in electro-optics from Lev Academic Center in 1994. They later went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in electro-optics engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2011.

Rail Vision Ltd
Rail Vision is the leading provider of obstacle detection & classification systems in the railway industry. With the company’s unique cognitive sensor fusion technology, based on advanced electro-optic sensors, artificial intelligence and deep learning, Rail Vision systems detect objects on and along the tracks from a distance of up to 2 kilometers – in real time, as well as in all weather and light conditions. When an obstacle is detected, the system sends visual and acoustic alerts in real-time to both the driver and the command-and-control center. Tailormade to meet every customer’s specific needs, the systems are available for Main Lines and Shunting Yards, as well as Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) operating in urban environments. In addition, Rail Vision offers a range of optional complementary features based on collected and analyzed data: Image-based Navigation, GIS Mapping and Predictive Maintenance.
