Nawab Ali has worked in various roles since 2001. At Sun Microsystems, they were a Member Technical Staff. In 2010, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. From 2011 to 2020, they were a CPU Performance Architect at Intel Corporation, where they were responsible for driving the performance architecture of Xeon data-center processors for Deep Learning (DL) workloads. Nawab also developed tools for workload performance analysis, debug, and optimization. In 2020, they became a Lead Computer Architect and Principal Engineer at Lightelligence. Currently, they are a Lead Architect at Rain, where they are responsible for architecture exploration and definition, power & performance modeling, PPA analysis, hardware software co-design, and ISA & programming model definition. Nawab'ssecondary responsibilities include defining the product roadmap and driving the Product Development Process.
Nawab Ali obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2009. Prior to that, they received a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati in 2004. Nawab also obtained a Master's Degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2001.
