John Griffin is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Partner at Rankin McKenzie, LLC since September 2018, John previously held the position of Corporate Controller at Cato Research from November 2016 to July 2018, where responsibilities included financial statement preparation and the introduction of strategies to enhance profitability and project performance. Prior to that, John was the Director of Finance at Scynexis from January 2001 to September 2016, leading financial strategy development and collaboration across departments. Earlier roles included Controller and Accounting Manager at Scynexis, as well as Auditor at Deloitte & Touche. John also operated Griffin Appraisal Company from 1995 to 2000. John holds a Master’s degree in Accounting/Business from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
