La Rappresentanza permanente d’Italia presso l'Unione europea promuove e difende le posizioni italiane in seno al Consiglio dell’Ue e nel processo decisionale europeo, curando anche le relazioni con le altre Istituzioni e gli altri organi dell'UE a partire dal Parlamento e dalla Commissione Europea.
Il personale della Rappresentanza è composto da funzionari del Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, funzionari ed esperti provenienti da altre Amministrazioni italiane e dipendenti assunti localmente.

The Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union promotes and advocates the Italian positions within the Council of the EU and in the European decision-making process, also taking care of relations with other EU institutions and bodies, such as the European Parliament and the European Commission.
The staff of the Representation is composed of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, functionaries and experts from other Italian Administrations and local employees.
