Ray Chan currently serves as Vice President of the RareShare Team at the Rare Genomics Institute, leading a volunteer project team focused on serving rare disease communities through the rareshare.org website. Previously, Ray was a Quality Assurance Consultant at Sutro Biopharma, Inc. and held the position of Senior Project Manager at Precision For Medicine, where project management of immunology research was a key responsibility. Ray's extensive experience also includes a tenure as Director of Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific, overseeing a regulatory compliant medical device manufacturing team, and as R&D Director at Remel, leading diagnostic assay projects. Ray began a career as Principal Scientist at Genzyme after earning a B.S. in Medical Microbiology from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley.
