Phillip D. is a highly accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in computer science and information technology. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the AI Institute for Research on Trustworthy AI in Weather, Climate, and Coastal Oceanography since August 2020, Phillip focuses on developing AI solutions for environmental challenges. Holding a tenured position as a Professor of Computer Science at Del Mar College since 1983, Phillip has also contributed as a Curriculum Subject Matter Expert for Rasmussen College and as an IT Faculty member at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Additional roles include serving on the WGU Computer Science Industry Advisory Board and teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member at Southern New Hampshire University. Phillip has a distinguished history with the National Science Foundation, acting as Principal Investigator for multiple projects and directing the GeoTech Center of Excellence. Educational qualifications include an EdD in Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University and both a BS and MS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
