Allison Brightman

Allison Brightman has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as an Intern at Governor Animal Clinic in 2014, where they assisted with cleaning, lab sample processing, and observed surgical procedures. Allison then had internships at Lions Tigers & Bears and the San Diego Humane Society, where they shadowed keepers, assisted with feeding and exhibit maintenance, and provided care for animals.

Allison gained further experience at UC Davis as a Literature Review Researcher, conducting a review on the effects of heat stress on calves and summarizing their findings for a wide audience. Allison continued their work in animal care as an Animal Caregiver at the San Diego Humane Society, where they trained volunteers, facilitated knowledge sharing, and performed regular animal care duties.

Allison's passion for animals also led their to volunteer at the Sacramento Zoo as a Keeper's Aide, answering guest questions and assisting with diet preparation and exhibit maintenance. Allison further volunteered at the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center as an Animal Husbandry Volunteer, providing assistance with diet preparation, exhibit maintenance, and animal record keeping.

In 2016, Allison joined the San Diego Zoo Global as a Receptionist, where they integrated communication tools and acted as the first point of contact for visitors and employees. Allison also served as a Guest Services Representative, operationalizing donor recruitment efforts and achieving the highest donor retention status. Allison then took on the role of Lead Guest Ambassador, facilitating training, streamlining coordination across departments, and maximizing guest experiences.

Most recently, Allison worked at TMC, a division of C.H. Robinson, as a Logistics Specialist. In this role, they communicated with customers, implemented new business processes, coordinated transportation, and supervised data flow. Allison is currently working as a Project Management Documentation Specialist at RAY · ALLEN, Inc.

Allison Brightman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Management from the University of California, Davis, graduating in 2016.
