Gabriela Spinola, MEng, AMIChemE has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and project management. Gabriela is currently the Head of Engineering at Rayner since joining in 2017. Prior to their current role, Gabriela worked as a Process Engineering Manager at Rayner, where they led the restructure of the Engineering department and managed strategic planning, resource allocation, recruitment, and training. Gabriela also served as a Manufacturing Engineer at Rayner, where they successfully managed a cost-saving project and implemented a new production area using innovative technology.

Before joining Rayner, Gabriela worked as a Process/Project Engineer at GSK. In this role, they led a team in completing improvement projects for a fermentation plant and a solvent extraction plant. Gabriela was responsible for project and planning management, resource planning, and ensuring compliance with validation timelines.

Gabriela also gained experience as a Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager at Mace, where they worked in the pharmaceutical and technology sectors. In these roles, Gabriela demonstrated strong management and communication skills, working across functions and maintaining good relationships with clients. Gabriela also underwent CPD training courses in presentation and communication skills and influential leadership.

Gabriela's early work experience includes a summer internship at the University of Manchester, where they gained skills in biotechnology, chromatography, and spectrophotometry. Gabriela also completed a feasibility study on biobutanol production.
