RBC Borealis
Shuvendu Roy is a Machine Learning Research Intern at RBC Borealis since January 2025 and a Graduate Research Assistant at Queen's University, where involvement includes work at the Ambient Intelligence and Interactive Machines Laboratory and Ingenuity Labs Research Institute under the supervision of a professor. Prior experience includes an Applied Machine Learning Internship at the Vector Institute focusing on multi-modal self-supervised learning, a Student Researcher position at Google researching self-supervised learning and continual learning, and an Applied ML Researcher role at Robi Axiata Limited, where predictive models on telecom data were developed. Shuvendu also has a background as a Junior Software Engineer specializing in Natural Language Processing at REVE Systems and has served as a Teaching Assistant at Queen's University. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology.
