Vin Bhaskara currently serves as a Research Engineer II in Machine Learning, focusing on Foundation Models and LLMs for Capital Markets and Credit Modeling at Borealis AI, the AI Research Institute of the Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to this role, Vin worked as a Research Engineer in Computer Vision at Samsung Research America, where collaboration occurred with notable academics, and also held positions as a Research Intern and Research Visitor, applying machine learning techniques in various domains, including patient risk assessment. Earlier experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at Symantec, where Vin developed machine learning solutions for malware detection, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo. Vin holds an MSc in Applied Computing from the University of Toronto and a B.Tech. in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
