Lorna Hughes

Lorna Hughes is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in digital publishing and reporting. Currently serving as the Digital Publishing Editor for Night Owl at Reach plc since May 2020, Lorna previously held various roles at the Liverpool Echo from October 2013 to April 2020, including Features Writer and Senior Reporter, where responsibilities encompassed creating long reads, managing the "Citylife" arts supplement, and overseeing social media accounts. Lorna's career also includes a secondment with the BBC Shared Data Unit in 2018 and a tenure at Wirral News Group from April 2004 to February 2009 as Chief Reporter, focusing on breaking news and leading a reporting team. Lorna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Liverpool and a fast-track NCTJ certificate in Journalism from the City of Liverpool College.
