Professor Dr. Gambheer Singh is appointed as part-time non official (Independent) Director on the Board of REC Limited w.e.f. November 15, 2021. He is Medical Graduate (MBBS) from Gandhi Medical College Bhopal (MP) and Post Graduate (Master of Surgery) from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Presently, he is Professor & Dean of Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He has teaching experience of more than 18 years and had earlier served in G.R. Medical College, Gwalior & Pt. J.N.M. Medical College, Raipur. Further, he also holds life membership of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) & Indian Medical Association (IMA). He has also published more than 10 national and international papers of various index journals and has also been an examiner of under-graduate and post graduate examinations.
Prof. Dr. Gambheer Singh is running 50 bedded multi-specialty hospital viz. M/s. Samarpan Hospital Private Limited in Raipur since 2008. The hospital is working on highest standards of medical specialty & is dedicated to the people of Chhattisgarh State.
As on the date of appointment, Dr. Gambheer Singh was holding ‘Nil’ Equity Shares in the Company. Further, he has no inter-se relation with any other Director of the Company.

REC Limited, formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, is engaged in other financial services and activities-other Credit granting. The Company provides finance to power sector. It finances and promotes rural electrification projects all over the country. It provides financial assistance to State Electricity Boards, State Government Departments and Rural Electric Cooperatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them. It provides loan assistance to state electricity boards (SEBs)/State Power Utilities for investments in rural electrification schemes through its corporate office located at New Delhi and over 20 field units, which are located in most of the states. It has sanctioned approximately 580 transmission and distribution schemes, which include primary power evacuation schemes associated with generating plants, system improvement schemes, including feeder segregation schemes, bulk loan schemes and intensive electrification schemes.
