Haiz Oppenheimer has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career as a Campaign Organizer at Dogwood Alliance, where they successfully coordinated field campaigns to protect Southern forests. During this time, they achieved significant victories in securing commitments to sustainable sourcing and forest conservation from major companies.
In 2013, Haiz joined Emerging Leader Labs as part of the Facilitation Team, specializing in helping participants develop their leadership skills and create impactful social enterprises. They then worked as a Web Application Developer and Program Coordinator for the NC Solar Schools Challenge at the Natural Resources Defense Council, where they built a Ruby on Rails web application to engage students in exploring solar power and promoting solarization in public schools.
Haiz founded their own venture, NextMove.is, in 2014. Through NextMove, they designed and facilitated summits and training sessions for organizations and communities focused on innovation. Notably, they partnered with Appalachian Voices for a series of public forums aimed at creating a "New Economy" in impoverished coal fields.
In 2016, Haiz joined Shiny Creek as a Lead Engineer, responsible for building web applications for Sales Performance International (SPI). They eventually became the VP of Engineering, leading the technical team and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of client projects. Haiz continued their journey in 2018 at Sales Performance International itself as the Software Systems Architect, overseeing software development and building scalable SaaS products.
At ART19, Inc., from 2019 to 2020, Haiz served as a Senior Software Engineer, working on a high-scale Ruby on Rails web app that powered millions of podcast downloads. Their role focused on meeting enterprise client needs for ad management, analytics, and supporting massive-scale podcast downloads.
From 2020 to 2023, Haiz joined Knotch as the VP of Product Engineering. They managed multiple teams of engineers, led major product development initiatives, and focused on developing the service architecture for Knotch's content intelligence platform.
Currently, Haiz is the Director of Engineering at Record360 since 2023.
Haiz Oppenheimer attended Appalachian State University from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies - individually designed with a focus on "Education, Dialogue, and Community Process".
