Mike Pyland

Mike Pyland is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in digital transformation and software development. Currently serving as CTO for both Recorded Books and RBmedia since January 2010, Mike has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of RBdigital, transitioning Recorded Books from a declining physical media entity to a dynamic digital distribution leader in eAudiobooks, eBooks, digital magazines, comics, and SVOD. Prior to this, Mike held the position of Vice President of Software Development at Laureate Education, where oversight of a 24 integrated systems environment and a team of 30 developers was key. As President of Pyland Development, Mike delivered comprehensive IT services leading to significant projects with UCLA, and as CIO at Intelligent Healthcare, Mike prepared the company for sale through effective business and IT strategies. Earlier roles include IT Director at Virgin Records and Applications Development Manager at UCLA, where Mike established successful technical directions and managed diverse teams to deliver innovative solutions.
