Erik Müllers

Erik Müllers, PhD, currently serves as Director of Project Biology at Recursion, leading advanced drug discovery programs from target identification to clinical development. Previously, Erik held the position of Director, Project Biology at Exscientia, overseeing small-molecule drug discovery initiatives. Prior experience includes roles in AstraZeneca as Associate Director and Team Leader in Cell and Molecular Pharmacology, where direct contributions supported drug projects across various disease areas. Educationally, Erik earned a PhD in Cell Biology and Virology from Technische Universität Dresden, preceded by a BSc in Molecular Biotechnology from the same institution. Additional experience encompasses postdoctoral research in cancer cell biology at Karolinska Institutet and a PhD focused on retrovirology at the Max Planck Institute. Erik also has a robust background in teaching and mentorship, having lectured and supervised at multiple academic institutions.
