Peter McLean is an accomplished data scientist and computational biologist with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as the Director of Data Science & Applied ML at Recursion since November 2016, Peter leads a team focused on integrating experimental biology with advanced data science to identify therapeutic opportunities across various human diseases. Previous roles at Recursion include Senior Manager and Lead Data Scientist, where Peter developed data analysis tools and provided leadership across multiple research initiatives. Peter's academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Genetics from Yale School of Medicine, complemented by postdoctoral research at both Stanford University and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Additional earlier research experience includes fellowships at NIH and contributions to projects at various institutions.
