Richard Lu has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as an Equity Research Analyst at Redburn. Prior to that, they worked at Goldman Sachs as an Equity Research Analyst. Richard also gained experience in venture capital as an Investment Analyst at Feldspar Capital, and in private equity at Livingbridge. Richard also worked as a Finance Analyst at Goldman Sachs and was the Founder & President of the Acclivus Finance Society at the University of Manchester. Additionally, they have experience in real estate consulting at Deloitte, and as the Chief Marketing Officer at Shut Up & Dance, a ballroom and Latin dancing retail start-up. Richard also worked in physical oil trading at Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation and as an Autumn Insight member at Morgan Stanley.
Richard Lu received their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in IBFE (Economics) from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they attended St Albans School and completed their A-Levels / AS-Levels in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Studies, and Critical Thinking. Richard also attended Aylesbury Grammar School and obtained their GCSEs there. In 2020, Richard continued their education at the University of Cambridge where they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree with a focus on Real Estate Finance, which they completed in 2021. In terms of certifications, they achieved Grade 7 in Piano from ABRSM in May 2013. Richard is also a CFA Level I Candidate with the CFA Institute and has completed the Capital Markets Programme offered by The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI).
