Tessa Babcock has diverse experience ranging from the restaurant industry to horticulture. Currently serving as a Seasonal Gardener at Red Butte Garden since March 2023, Tessa is expanding knowledge of native Utah plants and horticulture after transitioning from management roles. Previously, Tessa held the position of Assistant General Manager at HallPass after starting as a bartender and has experience as a Sewer at Waymark Gear Co., producing outdoor gear. Tessa's extensive background in the culinary field includes roles as Dining Room Manager and Social Media Marketing at Johnny's Downstairs and Restaurant Reception Supervisor at Montage Hotels & Resorts. Earlier positions include marketing and promotion work at Foghorn News and Media, cashier roles at Edley's Bar-B-Que and Green Fields Nursery, and an internship at Thirty Tigers in artist management. Tessa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business from Belmont University, complemented by a high school diploma from The Bryn Mawr School.

Red Butte Garden

Red Butte Garden, located on 100 acres in the foothills above the University of Utah, is an official arboretum of the state of Utah. The Garden has welcomed guests since 1985 and is the largest botanical garden in the Intermountain West with over 21 acres of developed gardens and five miles of hiking trails winding through an extensive Natural Area. The Garden; which is community-funded; is renowned for its numerous plant collections, display gardens, 540,000 springtime blooming bulbs; including a vast collection of daffodils; beautiful private event spaces, world-class outdoor summer concert series, and award-winning horticulture-based educational programs.
