Whil Piavis

Whil Piavis is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in back-end development, primarily utilizing Ruby on Rails and GraphQL. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer I at Red Canary since June 2021, Whil previously held the position of Senior Software Engineer I at PAIRIN, where responsibilities included architecting and developing back-end solutions for React front-ends. Prior experience includes co-founding Safety Spot and Moneta Trades LLC, where Whil was involved in back-end development, server deployment, and algorithm development. Whil’s technical expertise is complemented by a background in research and development at the University of Hawaii - Hawaii Natural Energy Institute and internships with General Motors, contributing to fuel cell technology advancements. Whil holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
