Michael Harkins

Michael Harkins is an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer with a robust background in designing optical systems and mechanical components. Presently at RED Digital Cinema since January 2012, Harkins previously honed skills at Zygo Corporation from June 2004 to December 2011, where contributions included the design of prototype optical systems. An adjunct faculty member at Orange Coast College from September 2000 to December 2010, Harkins taught courses in mechanical design and solid modeling. Earlier career roles include Senior Opto-Mechanical Designer at PVP Advanced Electro Opticals and Senior Mechanical Designer at Disneyland, where expertise in optical and mechanical systems was further developed. Harkins holds a degree from California State University, Long Beach and an AA in Design from Orange Coast College.
