Sophia Retchin is a Business Development Associate at Redefine Meat since November 2022 and serves as a Tel Aviv Ambassador for FoodHack since August 2023. Previously, Retchin worked as an Analyst at BERA PARTNERS, where insights on alternative proteins were provided to global investors. As the FoodTechIL Clients & Sponsorships Manager at The Kitchen Hub, Retchin managed startup expos and secured global sponsorships. As a founder, Retchin developed a prototype for plant-based deli meat and was awarded an NC IDEA Foundation grant. Retchin co-founded The Chapel Hill Alt. Protein Project, establishing courses on cellular agriculture at academic institutions. Experience also includes roles at MeaTech, Peace of Meat, Aleph Farms, and The Good Food Institute. Retchin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration focused on Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a Sustainability Track from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
