Jay Dent has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Jay started their career as an Assistant Controller at TimberWest Forest Corp. in 1993 and worked there until 2000. Jay then joined Ballard Power Systems as a Director of Finance, where they played a key role in the design, development, and manufacturing of proton exchange membrane fuel cells. In 2005, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, overseeing finance, information technology, and property management functions. After that, they served as the Vice President of Finance at Cogeco Peer 1, a global web infrastructure and cloud service provider. In 2017, they joined STEMCELL Technologies as the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for managing the global finance function. Currently, Jay Dent holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Redlen Technologies Inc., a leading provider of X-ray imaging modules.

Jay Dent attended The University of British Columbia from 1983 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance. Following this, from 1986 to 1989, Jay enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and completed the program to become a Chartered Accountant.
