Steve Rehrauer

Senior Backend Engineer at Redzone Production Systems

Steve Rehrauer has extensive work experience in software engineering, starting in 1988 as a Software Engineer at Uticor Technology, where they designed and implemented embedded software for programmable industrial displays. Steve also developed internal tools such as a font designer and a laser printer utility.

From 1989 to 1998, Rehrauer worked as a Software Engineer at Hewlett Packard (formerly Apollo Computer), specializing in compiler code-generation and interprocedural optimization. Steve contributed to various phases of the optimizer, including constant propagation and folding, memory analysis, and more.

Rehrauer then joined IBM Rational Software in 1998, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer for a decade. Steve played a key role in implementing a JEE web-services-based ClearCase WAN server and worked on both Java and C++ components. Steve worked within an agile team, utilizing practices like scrum and test-driven development.

In 2010, Rehrauer joined Litle & Co. as a Senior/Principal Software Engineer before transitioning to TimeTrade Systems, Inc. in 2011 as a SaaS Software Engineer. At TimeTrade, they designed and implemented REST API servers and co-designed a reactive streams server for appointment availability. Steve also contributed to the development of TimeTrade's queuing server.

Rehrauer's next roles were at Evolv Technology and QOMPLX in 2016 and Fractal Industries, Inc. in 2017, all as a Backend Scala Engineer.

Most recently, in 2021, they joined Rewards Network as a Scala Engineer and started working at Redzone in 2022 as a Senior Backend Engineer.

Steve Rehrauer attended Iowa State University from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
