Robert Carl has a significant amount of experience in the hospitality industry, holding various roles in facilities management and capital planning. Robert most recently worked at Remington Hospitality as the Senior Vice President for Facilities and Capital Planning. Prior to that, they were the Vice President for the same department at Phoenix American Hospitality. Robert also served as the Senior Vice President at FelCor Lodging Trust for nearly twelve years. Robert started their career at Remington Hotels as the Vice President for Purchasing and Project Management. Before that, they worked as a Regional Manager at Trust House Forte, Inc.

Robert Carl attended Penn State University from 1977 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Hotel/Motel Administration/Management. Robert also has a Certificate in Critical Thinking from Cornell University, obtained in 2021.
