Hristo Barakov

Hristo Barakov is a Portfolio Analyst at RenaissanceRe since October 2022, specializing in capital allocation and portfolio diversification through statistical models and analytics, as well as developing Python/SQL tools for exposure monitoring. Previously, Hristo worked as a Risk Analyst, assessing treaty risks using catastrophe models and creating scalable data pipelines. As co-founder and Data Lead at Deep Questions, an EdTech AI start-up, Hristo focused on personalized exam material generation through machine learning. Hristo also founded Wood Matter, a carpentry workshop specializing in epoxy resin furniture. Academically, Hristo completed a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Delft University of Technology, actively engaging in teaching and research internships in notable institutions related to quantum physics and modeling.
