John Esguerra

John Esguerra is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in the reinsurance industry, currently serving as Vice President and Controller for the Australian branch of RenaissanceRe since March 2019. Responsibilities include oversight of accounting, systems, treasury, taxation, and regulatory processes. Prior to this role, John spent nearly a decade at Tokio Millennium Re AG, progressing from Senior Financial Accountant to Assistant Vice President Finance, focusing on accounting operations and compliance with U.S. GAAP. Early career experiences include positions at PwC and Ernst & Young, where John specialized in external auditing for various financial institutions. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines Diliman, a Master’s Degree in Financial Analysis from UNSW, and is currently pursuing a Master's in Actuarial Practice at Macquarie University.
