Brian Blanton is a Senior Research Scientist at Renaissance Computing Institute with extensive experience in coastal floodplain hazards and statistical analysis. Prior to this, Brian held positions at SAIC and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in oceanography and mathematics. Brian's educational background includes a PhD in Coastal Oceanography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

An institute of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, RENCI was launched in 2004 as a collaborative effort involving UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University.
