Renaissance Computing Institute
Jan Prins is a RENCI Research Fellow at Renaissance Computing Institute with experience in high-performance computing research and development. Prins is also a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the Computer Science Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to that, Prins has worked as a Computer Animation Software Developer at Digital Effects and as a Systems Programmer at STSC. Prins holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University.

RENCI partners with researchers, policy makers, and technology leaders to engage and solve the challenging problems that affect North Carolina, our nation, and the world. An institute of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, RENCI was launched in 2004 as a collaborative effort involving UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University.
