Ian Blumel

Ian Blumel is a seasoned technology and product development professional with extensive experience in the mining and software sectors. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Software Product Development at RES since December 2023, Ian previously held various senior roles at Anglo American, including Head of Analytical Product Development and Principal Group Product Manager, where significant achievements included a threefold increase in product adoption and a major reduction in operating costs. Ian’s career commenced at Hexagon Mining, progressing from Software Developer to Product Manager, contributing to substantial sales growth and market share through innovative product strategies. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geophysics and Geology from The University of British Columbia and a Diploma in Computer Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
