Matt Davey

Matt Davey has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Matt began their career as a Student - Defence Engineering and Support at Defence Equipment and Support in 2009. Matt then moved on to work as a Managing Director at TeamSolveig, where they specialized in bicycle repairs, custom builds, and ski/snowboard servicing and repair.

In 2010, Matt worked as a Durability Engineer at Millbrook Proving Ground Ltd, where they oversaw the durability testing of cars and other vehicles. Matt also completed a Diploma in Industrial Studies during this time.

Matt then joined Loughborough University as a Mechanical Engineering, MEng Student from 2008 to 2013.

After completing their studies, Matt joined W F Farms as a Dairy Labourer, where they gained experience in stockmanship, operating vehicles and machinery. Matt later took on the role of Contractor at the same company.

In 2013, Matt joined RES (Renewable Energy Systems Ltd) as a Turbine Engineer - Projects and Reliability. In this role, they negotiated and managed contracts for the delivery, erection, testing, and operation of turbines for a wind farm. Matt also analyzed operational wind power plant data to optimize performance and diagnose problems. Matt later transitioned to the role of Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyst, where they designed and implemented software for microscale CFD simulations.

In 2015, Matt joined Solar Slate Ltd as a Product Development Engineer, where they analyzed an existing product to specify quality control criteria, developed product designs and specifications, and procured equipment to aid the manufacturing process.

Currently, Matt works at RES as a Lead Storage Performance Engineer, where they are responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of energy storage systems.

Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated strong technical skills in areas such as reliability engineering, analysis, project management, software development, and product development.

Matt Davey completed their education starting from 1994 to 2000 at Lyminge Primary School. Afterward, they attended Harvey Grammar School from 2000 to 2007, where they pursued A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Computing. From 2008 to 2013, Matt Davey continued their education at Loughborough University, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
