Andrew Barnes

Andrew Barnes is an experienced professional in embedded firmware and software engineering, currently serving as Principal Embedded Firmware Manager at Renishaw since May 2023. Barnes has had a long tenure at Renishaw, holding roles such as Technical Manager, Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer from August 2004 to March 2023, focusing on test rig development, research projects, and product implementation. Additionally, Barnes contributed as a Computer Science Researcher at University College London in collaboration with Renishaw from September 2011 to July 2015. Academic achievements include a Master of Research and a Doctor of Engineering in Computer Science from University College London, along with a BSc (Hons) in Computing from the University of the West of England.
