Uzma Mushtaque

Uzma Mushtaque, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since January 2019, focusing on research and teaching in machine learning, artificial intelligence, mathematics, computer programming, and statistics. Recent research contributions include efficient foundation models for sequential recommender systems and education research aimed at improving computing education. Uzma teaches courses at the Computer Science Department, including a large introductory programming course and a graduate course on machine learning. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Data Scientist at EY, Instructor and Postdoctoral Researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and various consulting positions at GENPACT. Uzma holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering, a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
