James Childers

James Childers has extensive work experience in the field of software development and technology leadership. James is currently employed at Rent. as a Staff Software Engineer, where they have been working since February 2023. Before their current role, they served as a Technical Lead Developer at Rent. from December 2021 to February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Rent. from September 2020 to December 2021.

Before joining Rent., James held the position of Director of Technology at Triple Play Foundation starting from January 2007. James was responsible for overseeing the organization's technology operations.

James also worked at H Collective as a Senior Frontend Developer from April 2018 to July 2020. In this role, they utilized React.js, Apollo Client/GraphQL, and Node.js/Express/Next.js technologies.

At Sharecare, Inc, James served as a User Interface Architect from June 2011 to April 2018. In this position, they directed the front-end stack direction and evolution, conducted code review meetings, and developed a custom admin SPA application in React for managing Kubernetes orchestration.

Prior to Sharecare, Inc, James worked as an Interactive Developer at The Morrison Agency from February 2010 to June 2011. James also gained experience in freelance web design and development, where they worked as a Designer and Front-end Developer from July 2006 to January 2011.

Earlier in their career, James held positions at Mailchimp as a Designer & Front-end Developer from February 2009 to December 2009, at Atomic Fusion as a Full Stack Engineer from May 2008 to January 2009, and at TRX as a Web Designer/Developer from June 2007 to March 2008. At Atomic Fusion, James built and maintained websites and various applications, including front-end development, custom PHP CMS applications, and iOS game development.

James Childers obtained their Bachelor's degree from The Art Institutes in 2008. James pursued a degree in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia, and Information Resources Design, completing their education between 2005 and 2008.
