Chiriboga has been with the brand since its inception in 2007, his vision is based on putting the name of the country high, developing an inclusive business model with small, low-income farmers. He faithfully believes that República del Cacao can become the first Ecuadorian brand to go global.

República del Cacao started in 2005 when our Ecuadorian founders, the Chiriboga brothers, walked into a chocolate store in Paris and asked to try their finest chocolate. The assistant in the store brought them their most prized chocolate, telling them that it was the finest chocolate in the world. The brothers were amazed and excited - the cacao in this magical bar came from the Guayaquil region, the largest city in Ecuador. Despite knowing Ecuador's history in cacao production, they had never been aware that Ecuador's cacao was the world's greatest. In that moment República del Cacao was born - with one mission: to locally produce the most authentic Latin American chocolate, by protecting sustainable fine cacao production.
