Loren Schmidt

Loren Schmidt currently serves as the Senior Manager of Government Engagement at Resources for the Future, focusing on enhancing relationships with government agencies and NGOs through environmental economic research and policy engagement. Previously, Loren held positions at the Environmental Defense Fund, contributing to global carbon markets strategies, and served as a Sustainability Researcher for People & Planet. Experience as a Grants Manager at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants included securing substantial federal and foundation grant funding. Additional roles encompassed grant reviewing, program assistance for GoodWeave, and administrative positions within various organizations. Loren Schmidt holds a Master of Science in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Economics and Cultural Affairs, as well as Chinese/Japanese Studies from Valparaiso University.
