Richard Walford has extensive experience in the IT field, currently serving as an Application Architect, Technical Lead, and Business Analyst at ReturnToWorkSA since May 2016. Prior to this role, Richard worked at IBM from July 1997 to May 2016 as an IT Specialist, where contributions included Business & Systems Analyst, Technical Architect, and Application Developer. Richard also held the position of Technical Business Analyst for the Workers Compensation Scheme Reform 2015 Program, facilitating the implementation of a new records management product. Earlier career highlights include roles at Telstra as an Analyst Programmer and at the University of South Australia as a Tutor in Mathematics and Computer Studies. Richard earned an Associate Diploma in Computer Studies from the University of South Australia between 1991 and 1994.

At ReturnToWorkSA, our purpose is to empower and support South Australians impacted by work injury. Our services and those delivered by our claims agents are designed to provide early intervention support to workers and employers following a work injury to ensure the worker can recover and return to work as quickly as possible. ReturnToWorkSA has replaced WorkCoverSA and we are responsible for implementing and managing the Return to Work scheme. We are a statutory authority set up under the Return to Work Corporation of South Australia Act 1994 to administer the Return to Work Act 2014.
