Revolut’s chairman founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983, leading the company through its growth for 34 years and overseeing its 2017 merger with Standard Life. Martin is also Senior Independent Director at Glencore. In 2015, Harvard Business Review ranked Martin 22nd out of over 900 in its list of the world’s top performing CEOs. Until May 2020, Martin acted as Chairman of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority’s Practitioner Panel and was Deputy Chairman of the board of Sky PLC until its acquisition by Comcast in 2018. Prior to this he was the Chairman of FirstGroup. Martin holds an LLB from the University of Aberdeen and an MA in accountancy and qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
