Howard Liao

Howard Liao is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in private debt and equity investment management. Currently serving as Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Debt & Equity at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated since February 2024, Howard has held previous advisory roles at Peak Altitude Partners and Longhouse Capital Partners. Notably, during tenure as Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Medley from 2014 to 2022, Howard successfully led a $2.2 billion merger involving Sierra Income Corporation and launched multiple senior loan funds. Prior experience at Lehman Brothers spanned various roles including Managing Director in Private Equity & Principal Investments and founding principal of the Global Mezzanine Fund, contributing to significant portfolio successes. Howard holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
