Beth Ames Altringer Eagle

Beth Ames Altringer Eagle serves as the Founding Director of the MADE Program at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design since September 2021, overseeing the development of a joint MA in Design Engineering. In addition to directing the MADE program, Beth holds the position of Professor in Design Engineering at Brown University and a faculty role at RISD, where design and engineering intersects with practical applications. With extensive experience in academia, including roles at Harvard University and the Berkman Klein Center, Beth founded the Desirability Lab, a design studio that collaborates with notable clients across various industries. Educational qualifications include a PhD from the University of Cambridge and postdoctoral studies at MIT, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and user-centered design.
