Sam Bucci is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for managing all research and development, product management and customer support teams for the company’s packet and optical networking solutions. Prior to Ribbon Sam lead the multi-billion-dollar optical networking business unit for Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent. Nokia acquired Alcatel-Lucent’s packet optical business in 2016. While at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent he was responsible for the P&L of the entire optical networking business unit and oversaw various functions including engineering, product management, portfolio management, business strategy, supply chain, RBC (regional business centers), support and professional services, marketing communications and product marketing. Prior to his tenure at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, Sam spent several years at Nortel Networks’ optical business unit in various senior product management, sales, and business development roles. He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree with distinction from McGill University in Canada.
