Floran de Bruin has a diverse work experience. Floran is currently working as a Research and Development Engineer at RIFT, where they are involved in developing Iron Fuel Technology™ to decarbonize energy-intensive industries. Prior to this, Floran worked as a Student Aid at Eindhoven University of Technology. Floran also had an internship at Bronswerk Heat Transfer, where they developed an Excel tool for designing industrial heat pump systems. Floran also worked as an Employee at Vuurproeven and had an internship at Hosokawa Micron B.V., where they researched and optimized an agglomeration machine. Additionally, Floran served as an Abassador of Technology for TechniekTalent.nu, promoting technical studies in secondary schools. Floran started their career as a Restocker of shelves at Albert Heijn and had a brief role as an Administrative Assistant at a.s.r. de Nederlandse verzekeringsmaatschappij voor alle verzekeringen, where they handled client emails and maintained employee records.

Floran de Bruin began their education by obtaining a Higher General Secondary Education certificate, also known as an HAVO diploma, from De Amersfoortse Berg in July 2015. They then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Chemische technologie (Chemical Technology) at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) from 2015 to 2019. In June 2016, Floran received a Propaedeutic Certificate in Chemical Engineering/Chemische Technology from the University of applied sciences of Utrecht/Hogeschool Utrecht. Following their undergraduate studies, Floran enrolled in the Process technology Talent Program at the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology from 2017 to 2019. Currently, Floran is pursuing a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, starting in 2019 and expected to graduate in 2023.
